You see, a Virtual cottage is really about trying to do whatever you’re setting out to achieve. Mij, I am a very ambitious lad and frankly, I am terrible when it comes to being able to stay focused. This is why I’ll be playing the game in hard mode.

  This is a pretty decent framework to try and create balance for how you spend your time. If you’re like me, you probably have a lot of hobbies and a lot of dreams. Perhaps you don’t have work just yet, but you are hoping to get a job, which may require getting a solid CV prepared.

  Aanvullend, if you’re striving to be able to play this game at its hardcore level, it’s really about trying to push yourself to the limit but only with what you’re okay with negotiating with yourself for.
• So in my case, I’ve told myself that I will no longer be playing video games for a whole year, until I’ve set the type of balance I am trying to achieve in all these areas in my life.

  Opmerking. Voor mij, I have a tonne of hobbies outside of gaming, so getting myself to make this sacrifice, and note it is a huge one and perhaps even unnecessary. Echter, this step is what will push me into hyper-fixating on creating the balance and routine I am trying to set up. It’s really not something easy to achieve. Diligence doesn’t come easy and this is something you need to build up experience with; be prepared to fail a lot.

  So really it’s simple, make sacrifices, set up routines, reflect a lot, and try to set up times for when you’ll be working on different tasks. You need clarity on what exactly you’re trying to work on, the amount of progress you’re hoping to achieve, as well as how you’re going to do this all without burning yourself out. It’s something that has its own learning curve for sure.
