Sewer XP Farm Guide
When you go into the sewers at the beginning of a new game, you can easily level up several skills, zoals:

When your shield eventually breaks, you can use a sword to block instead. Blocking with a sword achieves the same goal, and you can still earn experience points on armor even when it’s broken.
If you start feeling bored with fighting the rat, you can move on to fighting the goblin or goblins instead.
