The developer of Fountain has released a new update for the game on April 14, 2024. Dit zijn de nieuwe dingen die u kunt verwachten in deze nieuwe update. Deze informatie is rechtstreeks samengesteld uit de officiële aankondiging op Steam.
It has been more than a month since Fountain released. Looking back at the announcements I had written, I suddenly realized that I was making an independent game. Why should I wrote announcements seriously like a game company… It just happened that there wasn’t much update content this week, so I want to write something else, to chat with everyone.
Laten’s first talk about why we start this game. The idea came to me when my wife was pregnant with my daughter. I thought that I was going to have my own child. As someone who likes games, I should try to have my own game, so I talked to my partner artist and started this project.
Because I’m not very good at action games, I play strategy games more. The ones that most influenced me were Fire Emblem and Advance Wars from Nintendo. I like the fantasy background of Fire Emblem and the combat system of Advance Wars. So I try to combine the two into one game. The cavalry in Fountain is similar to the tank or armored vehicle in Advance Wars, the infantry is infantry, and the archers correspond to artillery or rocket launchers. The archer has blind area and can’t attack after moving also come from Advance Wars. You guys who have played Advance Wars will probably feel this.
In aanvulling, I played a lot of roguelike games, and I also like the turn-based Deck Builder game. Echter, there are already many such games, so I want to integrate turn-based tactic with roguelike more. I have also played one of the best roguelike turn-based tactic games, zoals “In de breuk” for dozens of hours. In Fountain, I wanted to make some different flavors. So I started my attempt.
Trouwens, laten’s talk about the current development content – “Rare Relics”. Rare Relics will have a more significant impact in commbat than the common ones. Such as the “Loyalty Medal”, which cancel the cooldown of our unit’s “Rush to Rescue” and launch an “Sentinel I” after rescue. Bell and Sam are the start heroes. In order not to introduce complex abilities too early, their captain abilities are simple +ATK/DEF. This rare relic “Loyalty Medal” can be regarded as a little compensation for Sam (of course Bell also has another one) . The first release of some rare relics is expected to be in late April.
