Here are the right FFB settings for your T300 / TX and other belt-driven wheelbases. These settings should also be good for gear-driven (G29 / G920 / G923) and hybrid (T150 / TMX / T248) wheelbases. I’ve been playing iRacing for more than 5 years and other similar games, so having really accurate and lifelike force feedback is super important to me. I want this guide to help others make their wheelbase feel better.

Control Panel Settings

The first step is to make sure you’ve got your control panel settings for your wheelbase set up correctly. These settings should be the same for all racing games, not just Forza Motorsport.

  • Overall Strength of all forces: 100%

Set this as high as you’re comfortable with. Some folks like to keep it at the default 75%, and that’s okay. Just put it as high as you can while still feeling comfortable.

  • Constant: 100%
  • Periodic: 100%
  • Lente: 0%
  • Damper: 0%
  • BOOST (Constant + Lente): OFF
  • Auto-Center: by the game (Aanbevolen)

In-game instellingen

Now let’s go over the in-game settings. Eerst, head into the game’s Settings and go to the DRIVING ASSISTS tab.

  • Steering: Simulatie

Volgende, navigate to the ADVANCED INPUT tab.

  • Steering Axis Deadzone Inside: 0
  • Steering Axis Deadzone Outside: 100
  • Vibration Scale: 40

Vibration Scale is like the rumble on a gamepad. It’s a personal preference setting, and safe values are between 40 en 100. I prefer to leave it at 40.

  • Force Feedback Scale: 70

Force Feedback Scale determines the overall strength of the in-game force feedback. 70 is a good starting point, but you can adjust it up or down to your liking. Never set it above 100, as that can cause problems.

  • Steering Self Alignment: 100

For belt-driven wheelbases, keep this at the default setting of 100.

  • Mechanical Trail Scale: 100

Set this to around 100 for a belt-driven wheelbase. Some guides suggest turning it up, but for belt-driven wheelbases, it’s safer to keep it around 90-100.

  • Pneumatic Trail Scale: 100

Similar to Mechanical Trail Scale, set this to around 100 for a belt-driven wheelbase. Some guides might suggest lower values, but for belt-driven wheelbases, 100-120 is a good range.

  • Road Feel Scale: 100

Road Feel Scale is a personal preference setting. Safe values are between 100-130. It simulates road surface effects. Be cautious not to set it too high, as it might overshadow other important feedback. I like to keep mine at 100.

  • Load Sensitivity: 50

You can increase Load Sensitivity on a belt-driven wheelbase, with safe values between 50-100. I prefer 50, but you can test higher values to see what works best for you.

  • Wheel Damping Scale: 10
  • Center Spring Scale: 10

Wheel Damping Scale should be set low in most sims, and in Forza Motorsport, it’s beneficial to keep it at 10-20. Center Spring Scale can be set to 0 of 10. I choose 10 to prevent oscillation and maintain feedback fidelity.

  • Dynamic Damper Behavior: 100

Dynamic Damper Behavior affects damping from Wheel Damping Scale. Set it between 85-100 for better fidelity. Ik raad aan 100 for maximum fidelity.

  • Steering Sensitivity: 50
  • Steering Linearity: 50

These should not be changed; leave them at the default 50. Altering Sensitivity can affect your wheel’s rotation sensitivity, and Linearity affects the wheel’s linearity, which is not desirable.

  • Use Gamepad Steering Filters: Uit

Make sure these in-game settings match what I’ve described, and you’ll be on the right track for a good force feedback experience.
