Escape the Map achievement guide. I was able to get the achievement in a way that is different from what older guides say to do. Options that were discovered in previous versions would not work for me, so I found another way to do this. Completed on December 16, 2022 running the most up to date version of the game at the time.
Invoering
While attempting to 100% this game, I struggled the most with this secret achievement that leads to the games credits. I found 3 suggested ways to do this that did not work for me. Not sure if they have all been removed, or I just didn’t know how to do them. Here they are for reference:
- Swim past the edge of the map. – This does not seem to work anymore as there is a boundary that can be seen when swimming.
- Ride the Josie. – Every time I grabbed onto the Josie, it would give the “Don’t let go!” message, but eventually the cat would fall off the Josie.
- Ride the Dragon Fish. – In het verleden, it seems this fish would always drag the bait to the right. This would lead the player out of the map. For me it always went left/down and broke the line against the ground.
Gids
The trick to this is to grab onto an Old Cusper. It can be found pretty far down, but there is a guaranteed way to make it come to you. Simply leave your bait in the water for an extended period of time. This seems to be some AFK related mechanic.
Once you find one, or make one come to you, jump out of the boat with the swimming mechanic and grab onto one. It will go right, past the boundary, and eventually start heading down. Na een tijdje, you will leave the map, the credits will roll, and the achievement will pop.
