The Patch 1.5 for Astra Protocol 2 is now live!
Space stations have come online and can provide benefits to you on your exploration and investigation into the Astra Protocol.
This patch brings a mix of new features, improvements and bug fixes:
New Features
- Can request to DRYDOCK with space station – docking will allow ship to be repaired
- Can request RESUPPLY from a space station – docking will resupply ship resources
- Space stations have resources specified on creation
Changes and Improvements
- Adjusted the scan range and rate of all ships
- Window position is stored between sessions
- Optional config option to allow your missiles to hit your fighters (turned off by default)
- Space station spawn logic adjusted
- Space stations only spawn in undiscovered space – you can no longer go back and forth to find a space station that wasn’t there before
- Space stations shouldn’t spawn too close together
- Game version stored in save file
- Config menu rearranged to fit on smaller screens better

- Explanation that the game uses a Newtonian physics model
- Explanation that long range scan uses relative and not absolute coordinates
- Explanation about how to reread a transmission
- Explanation that the TARGET option only works within a certain range

Bugfixes
- Transmissions and log timestamps shouldn’t be negative on loading a save
- Heliosaurs can no longer spawn in empty space
- Missiles will complete a reload / firing operation if the game was saved and reloaded mid process
- Rift worms highlight properly
- Lasers will now lock onto all lifeforms properly
- Docking HUD has the port and starboard umbilicals and airlocks labelled properly
- Space time anomalies will now close if the game was saved and reloaded during a rift worm spawn
- Ordnance screen no longer displays TARGET LOCKED when no target is locked
- Crystalline entities will now actually spawn
- Fixed compass on navigation screen
- Fixed height bars and adjusted zoom for space stations being viewed in the scientific details screen
- Refuelling fighters will no longer be flagged as RETURNING when docked
- Fixed crash on config screen if second monitor is unplugged between sessions
- Links in PDF manual restored
We hope that these improvements should enhance your experience with Astra Protocol 2 and encourage you to utilise some of the newer features implemented in earlier patches, as well as addressing some feedback we have received from players.
