Lords of the Fallen has some really tough bosses you need to beat to move on in the game. Right after you finish the tutorial part, you’ll run into the first big boss, Pieta, She of Blessed Renewal.
Just like in other games that are similar to Souls, Pieta is like a test to see how skilled you are at the game. Let’s talk about how to beat Pieta.
Phase 1
In the first part, Pieta has a big holy sword, and all her moves are about that sword in the beginning. Her rules for attacking are simple: either move to the left or move to the right.
To handle her, try to stay near her as much as you can. This way, she can only attack you up close. She does some annoying long-range attacks too.
Most of the time, she swings her sword two times. The important thing is to see where the sword is coming from and move in the opposite direction. For example, if the swing is from the left, move to the right, and vice versa. I’ll show you a good dodge and a bad one. The goal is to avoid the end of her sword because that’s where it hits the hardest. But sometimes, if you’re close, she might do four swings in a row, so be ready for that too.
After those two big swings, that’s your chance to hit her with a powerful attack or a few regular ones.
She also has an attack where she drops a holy sword to the ground, and it releases a bunch of swords that come straight at you. This one is easy to avoid: just step to the left or right to get out of the way.
The last attack in this part is when she jumps and swings her sword to get close to you. Like the first attack, this gives you a good chance to hit her with a combo.
Phase 2
When Pieta takes enough damage, she strikes a cool pose and slams her sword into the ground to change her form. When this happens, make sure to quickly move away to avoid her attacks.
In the second phase, Pieta becomes a four-winged knight and does a charging attack from the back of the area. Swords fall from above as she goes to the other side. To stay safe, stand on either the right or left side of the place to avoid this attack.
She can still do those two or four sword swings, which is your chance to hit her. Just wait for a pause after every two swings before getting close.
She also keeps her sweeping back attack, jump swing, and beam attack from the first phase.
In this phase, Pieta summons ghostly figures that do different things:
- Sometimes, she calls two figures that shoot beams at you.
- Other times, one or two figures appear close and do a melee combo.
When enough damage is done, she moves to the end of the area and summons two figures on both sides. They dive in a line and leave swords falling down. To dodge this, choose a clear path: left, right, or middle, and stick with it until the attack ends.
Also, watch out for her grabbing move, especially when she’s far away. It really hurts.
And that’s all there is to it. If you found this helpful, please remember to like, comment, and subscribe. Each of these things makes a big difference for me.
