In the interest of keeping your marine’s alive long enough to deal with your mission, it is important to understand the basics of a ship’s coordinate system and how to navigate your way through completing your objectives. When a fresh marine first steps out of the airlock, they are poorly equipped to deal with the many twists and turns that will carry them blindly through an infested space ship.

다행스럽게도, all ships rely on a basic coordinate system and every door, fence, and interactive terminal in the game provide invaluable information about your current location on the ship. Using this information, the knowledgeable marine will rarely, if ever, be truly lost.

Navigation Basics

• Your compass will always show the direction you are facing (0 is North, 90 is East, 180 is South, 270 is West).

• Open the map coordinate diagram image on a 2nd monitor if available (see above). While it is easy to determine how far North or South you are purely by the size of the corresponding door/terminal number, it is harder to tell at a glance how far East or West you are without a reference.
• Take note of any door, fence, terminal, 등. you see immediately existing the airlock. If you are without an airlock tracker, this is essential knowledge for your return trip once the reactor is ready to blow.
