Beasts of Bermuda – Megaraptor Beginner’s Guide

기본 사항, ins and outs of our beloved (not so) threatening edgelord Megaraptor in Beasts of Bermuda.

Strategies in Hunts

One of the main things that megaraptor players dream of, pulling off a good, smooth hunt. The first one being Oryctodromeus legs and i don’t judge them really they’re quite delicious.

Mainly a pack hunter, though they can work quite well as a solo survivor. We’ll get into survival later. Finding a big pack would be your objective to be efficient. Coordinate with your pack. Establish long term groups.

In a hunt, 기억하다:

• You’re a glass cannon, you can not take many hits unlike Megalo. 조심하세요, analyze the situation.
• Utilize camo skins to properly sneak close to your opponent, being silent increases your chances of getting a decent amount of pre-fight hits. If you are 100% sure you successfully sneaked in, hit them with your claw attack. Have your dodge charged to quickly escape.
• Use your dodge. Many make the mistake of not. Dodging can be used to get quick hit on the opponent, you go in for a bite and immediately dodge. Always have your dodge charged if you will do that. Dodging can be used to jump over your opponent for easy hits on their backside.
• Evasive Maneuver grants invulnerability while you are transparent. Abuse this.
• Stay close to your opponent, so you apply intimidation on top of your bleed.

Important Matchups

As fragile megaraptor is, you should be careful fighting even a lowly juvenile. Your common enemies will be megalosaurus, pteranodon, tropeognathus, ocassionally pachy. Sadly two of them have wings so it’ll be harder for you.

Megalosaurus:
Your biggest enemy, the community thought you would stop them but you actually get outmatched by them, how cute.

Meg is a bulky, hard hitting swift land carnivore, you generally want to avoid a head to head fight unless you get a good ambush off, your claw attack can kill them quickly. They’re also equipped with good turning (even better than yours!) so before you ride them you should think twice, though meg speed/stamina is inferior to yours.

Pteranodon:
The snipers of the sky, capable of dive bombing you dealing high damage but held back by weak bones and max health points. You should spec some exhausting bite to prevent them from taking off after you smack down one of them from the sky. Use your claw attack once you ground them since they can not take off once they have been hit once for a few moments, which would lead them to a infinite stunlock. This might not always work, be careful and time your dodges whenever you see a dive bomb coming.

Tropeognathus:
Similar to pteranodon mechanically, they have more health and a deadly wing beat attack which can cripple you if a leg hit was recieved. Can be easier to deal with comparing it to ptera because of their slower speed. Run to a nearby cave or obstacles such as dense jungles if possible.

Pachycephalosaurus:
Don’t understimate them despite their funny size, a good charge to a unsuspecting megarap can very easily disable them, leading to a quick death. Low headbutt damage, slightly less health than you. Utilize your dodge and run them down, don’t let them breathe.

Talent Tree and Builds

Since these topics are similar, i’ll put them in the same section.

Ah yes, the talent tree, one of the main features of this game. It allows variety in playstyles which i appreciate a lot, haven’t seen that in any dinosaur game when the game launched. Though it can be problematic, once it’ll be properly balanced i think it could turn out pretty well. Growth and the Talent Tree make a dystopic duo. I’ll show the optimal builds.

Mainly Speed

This build is focused on being swift and swift only, sacrificing valuable things like damage and injury resistance. Though it’s packed with a lot of Elusive Maneuver, 운동화, Aqua Affinity, Nimble footed and Swiftness you have chances to be shut down by high damage or high hp opponents. Become a survivalist or take the supporter role in pack hunts. Use your extreme mobility to juke everyone in the battlefield.

전투 / Speed hybrid

This build is focused on being a fast damage dealer, while you are fragile you can deal high damaging moves and having the mobility to do earth shattering movement. Beware the leg hits.

Go for max combat (brawler, claws, serrated teeth), and get atleast 2 swiftness, pick Nimble footed over Powerful legs.

활착 / Speed hybrid

This build is focused on being a long lasting chip damage class or extremely survival based if you pick scavenger instead of strong bones. You provide help to your pack, can take more hits and you have better survival capabilities against weather conditions.

Get strong bones to make taking hits less harsh, and constitution. Good Parent varies, you should get it later since maxing out important talents first is important.

Solo Survival

To survive, you want to:

• Get aqua affinity and sneaky. These will come in very handy when you find yourself cornered and need a quick escape.
• Get scavenger and weather resistance. Scavenger will allow you to eat fish and gain satiation from gores, and if you have enough points you can eat fully rotten gores, weather resistance will help you survive sudden harsh weather if you’re caught in the open and the deadly floods.
• Crystal Bias can work as a substitute for Resilience.
• Beware your surroundings, get used to sniffing often.
• Bewareother megaraptors, these are generally not cannibalistic but its always good to analyze them before getting too close. Any suspicious movement and you should run away immediately, there’s a possibility you’re being led to an ambush.

As the fastest land creature in the game, this already boosts your survival viability by a ton, and you also have the fastest swim speed, second best jump in the game which is outmatched by velociraptor’s athletic legs.
