Genocide Ending Guide
The Genocide Route is the way in the game that leads to the darkest ending. It means you have to go through the Underground and kill every single monster you come across.
This route’s ending is super serious and can happen even if you haven’t finished the game before. And if you finish a Genocide Route, it changes the endings of future True Pacifist Routes, even if you do a True Reset.
To start the Genocide Route, you have to go through each area – 遺跡, Snowdin Forest, 滝, and Hotland/The CORE – and keep getting into fights, defeating all the monsters each time. Keep going until no more monsters show up in the encounters. After you’ve killed all monsters in an area, you’ll still get encounters, but there won’t be any monsters. The text will say “But nobody came” in a smaller font, and this can also happen in a Neutral Route if you’ve killed everyone in an area.
If you decide not to continue the Genocide Route and mess up the requirements, it goes back to a Neutral Route where the regular music plays. NPCs will still be around in the region where you stopped the Genocide Route.

In each area, you need to defeat a specific number of random monsters before reaching the final encounter. Make sure you do this before facing the boss of that region.
You’re allowed to spare some encounters; 例えば, Snowdrake needs to be spared separately. Sparing certain monsters lets you avoid fighting others, like sparing Jerry to skip the high-defense fight. You can also spare monsters strategically to focus on defeating ones that give more EXP and GOLD, like Glyde.

A special note for Snowdrake: you must defeat him before the kill counter is empty, and he contributes to the total kills.
Once you meet the kill requirement, SAVE points will show the message “Determination.” 覚えて, you automatically defeat Asgore upon encountering him, and pressing any action button will kill Flowey.
To complete the Genocide Route, you must defeat every boss and miniboss. Mini-bosses, excluding Snowdrake but including Shyren, can be encountered even after the kill counter is empty for extra EXP.

Different areas have different kill counter requirements. If certain events happen before clearing an area, you’re sent back to a Neutral Route. 例えば, initiating Papyrus’s battle without exhausting the Snowdin kill counter triggers the cutscene as if on a Neutral Route. Even if you’re captured and return later to finish off the last monsters, re-fighting Papyrus still goes on like a Neutral Route. Once you abandon a Genocide Route, you can’t go back without reloading to a SAVE before the abandonment or resetting entirely.
Erasing The World
Instead of the usual black screen and return to the Throne Room, Chara appears on the black screen and starts talking directly to you.
Chara explains that your determination is the reason for their return, and you’ve taught them about the purpose of their return and how to gain power. They then suggest destroying the world together so that both of you can move on to another world. You’re given two options: “ERASE” または “DO NOT.”

Restoring the World
After relaunching the game, you’re met with a black screen and howling wind, and your inputs do nothing. For PC/Mac users, you must patiently wait for 10 分, while console versions only require a 30-second wait.
Chara eventually speaks, reminding you that you destroyed the world and questioning if you believe you’re exempt from consequences. They propose a compromise: they’ll bring back the world in exchange for your SOUL.
If you agree to this offer, the game closes. When you reopen it, everything seems normal, and a naming prompt is given, as if you just installed the game. On console versions, the reset happens immediately.
Choosing to decline the offer results in an eternal black screen. しかし, if you restart the game, Chara reappears after ten more minutes, offering the same deal again.
Once you accept the deal, the game closes. Upon reopening, it functions as if it’s a fresh install, and all future True Pacifist and Genocide endings are changed.
Soulless Pacifist Ending
After finishing a True Pacifist Run following a Genocide Run, a peculiar event occurs. もし, when on the surface with Toriel, あなたが選択します “I wish to stay with you” と, within four seconds of her leaving the bedroom, Frisk turns in bed to face the screen. To your surprise, Chara’s face with red eyes is revealed. Accompanied by a low-pitched version of Flowey’s laugh, the screen swiftly cuts to black.
