Exploring the wilderness

Before going on any adventure make sure you take proper self defense weaponry and first aid with you. There are lots of dangerous wildlife you may encounter and you have to be ready to deal with them.

For weaponry, a re-bar gun is recommended but a rifle is better if you can afford it. A xeno-basher is also recommended if you plan to melee, a xeno-zapper can deal with weaker hostile wildlife but will prove ineffective against stronger enemies.

Hogs

Hogs are one of the more common wildlife in the area. You’ll find them around feeding on grass, and if you get too close they will come after you to defend their territory. If you run away far enough they will give up pursuit, but keep in mind they run faster, so be prepared to dodge you can also build man made structures to climb above them and avoid them. Jetpacks and other flying devices are useful against hogs as hogs cannot fly (ほとんどの場合).

If you have to fight one, jump to the side when they charge you and try to zap them when they pass by. If you time it right you can jump straight over a hog as well. When they miss a charge they will turn towards you and sometimes stop, this is another chance for you to strike.

Alpha Hog

These hogs are the alphas of their group. They behave the same as regular hogs except they are bigger, より厳しい, and hurt a lot more. Stay clear of these big boys unless you are prepared to take one head one. Getting hit by one of these can knock you back a considerable distance, so stay away from ledges when fighting one.

スピッター

Spitters come in a variety of colors and sizes. When they see a pioneer they will begin to launch fire balls to try and take you down. Run to the side to dodge the fireballs, and if you’re planning on using melee there is a cool-down between its shots which gives you a chance to get in close. ただし気をつけてください, Spitters will perform a close range attack to knock you back when you do, so don’t stay close for too long. Bigger spitters will act the same as smaller spitters, but like the Alpha Hog, they will be stronger.

Flying Crabs

These are perhaps the most annoying wildlife you will encounter. Flying crabs will fly straight at you and blow up to damage you. Flying crabs come from “Hatchers” which will continue to spawn flying crabs until it is destroyed. destroy the Hatcher as soon as possible then deal with any remaining flying crabs. If you’re using melee you may have to tank a few hits from the flying crabs in order to destroy their nest, so make sure you bring some snacks to heal with.

スティンガー

Stingers are some of the deadliest creatures in the area, approach with extreme caution. Stingers are usually found in caves or near cave entrances. They will run towards you are high speed and sometimes leap at you, making them hard to hit. They will also hit very hard. Try and keep your distance and shoot them with ranged weaponry. Melee can be very dangerous due to their high damage and sometimes large groups, but if you have no choice, you can try circling around the stinger as if try to attack you and get a few hits in. Large stingers also exist and will hit even harder.

A variant of the large stingers known as the gas stinger can also be found. It will use poison gas in addition to its normal attacks to try and kill you.

Non-Flying Bird

の “Non Flying Bird” uses its four-parted bill and three tongues to mimic a flower to lure in unsuspecting insects that it feeds on. It is not hostile to you and will flee when approached. Despite its name, it can actually fly short distances.

Space Giraffe-Tick-Penguin-Whale Thing

The Space Giraffe-Tick-Penguin-Whale Thing, とも呼ばれます “豆”, is a confusing creature.It is passive and will not interact with you, though it will flee if attacked. If you manage to get high enough you can jump up and down on its back like a trampoline.

Lizard Doggo

The lizard doggo is not only non-hostile, it can be tamed. Doggos can be tamed using Paleberries. Once a Lizard Doggo is found, stop moving and wait until it turns around and starts staring at the player. Avoid running or jumping near the doggo, you may need to unequip Blade Runners to avoid startling it. 在庫を開く, and drop a single paleberry on the ground. Once the Paleberry is dropped, wait until the Doggo comes over and eats the berry. Do not move while this happens. After the doggo eats the berry, press E to pet it. If this was done correctly, the doggo will jump up and begin smiling. This means it has been tamed!

Jetpack Hog

How does a hog get a jetpack is a mystery, but occasionally you may run into one. They behave like normal hogs, but may explode when they hit you, so be very careful. Killing the hog will drop the jetpack for you to use.
