Commencer – Character Creation and Map Seeding

We will be starting on a fresh new world seed and a brand new character for this wonderful guide.

As you begin in the wonderful world of Tinkertown, you will be greeted but a happy sound track opening, which kind of gives me Fly For Fun vibes, juste dire. Now to the grit. Première chose en premier, we have to start a new game. Frappez le « Jouer » languette / bouton, sometimes you have to double click, not sure if it is a bug or glitch but sometimes that is a real situation…

You can change your settings or just exit the game from this fun menu as well. Now we want to start on creating our character for this wonderful adventure, so let your creative heart go crazy!

Now that you are looking cool or unique, whatever you choose, we will now be moving to creating your new Tinkertown realm! In the screenshot below you can see on the left side where it says « Create World » hit that bad boy like it is going out of style, which will bring up the right side menu!

Here is where you can name your world and generate a 4 digit world seed of your randomized choice! I have decided to type in World Seed – 2593 et nomme-le « HowToTinkertown ».

Not sure if the seed will be the same map entirely, but I do know the random generation on this game can be your bestfriend or worse nightmare. So hopefully I did not pick a Nightmare Seed.

Hosting / Joining a Co-op Game.

Welcome to Tinkertown! In this part of the guide, I will be going over how to Host / Join Co-op games, since some people do have issues trying to figure it out, I will be showing you in this guide how to Host or Join friends’ co-op games. Premièrement, you want to hit « Jouer »

The Character menu will pop up, where you can load an existing character or start a new one. I will be picking « TheTutorDude » since that is the character I am using for this Guide / Walk-through and for the Youtube Walk-through. So go on ahead and load your character or start a new one… I will wait. 😀

After you made your bland / sauvage / questionably unique character, you will be greeted with the menu, that you can see in the screenshot below:

You will see any worlds you have created yourself, so if you want to host, you will have to pick the world you wish to host on. After you made your choice of playing online with an existing World or starting a new World, you will see the following menu options:

You are going to want to slap that BIG BLUE BUTTON the says « Multijoueur »

You will have a Loading screen, it might take a little longer on some machines and internet connections, just wait for it to do it’s thing.

After the game loads, you as the host, will need to give anyone you are wanting to join your Friend Code. Which you can find by hitting ESC on your keyboard. It will be in the top left corner.

You can copy the code by hitting the blocks beside the Friend Code, which you can send to anyone you want to join your game by holding down CTRL and V . ( This code can be sent through steam or discord)

And that is how you Host and send your code to friends.

To join a game, it is just as simple. From the main title menu, you just hit « Jouer » and then create / choose your character. After you have done all that and you are looking at the World selection menu, you will want to hit the « Connecter » button on the top right.

This will bring up a Connection menu. You will see where it says « Join Game » and it has a box that says « Friend Code », you will need this 6 digit code to connect to the host, so after you recieve the Host’s Friend Code, you will to put it into the box you see in the screenshot below.

After you input you friend’le code, all you will need to do is hit « Connecter ». Depending on the Host’s internet connection and your own connection, will depend on the loading time, It can take 10 -20 seconds to even up to 60 secondes. Just wait for it to load, it will be well worth it.

and that is how you Host / Join a co-op game! Happy travels!

Into the World of Tinkertown – Resources and Stone Tools

In this part of our guide / walk-through, I will be going over one of the simple / more farming method I use at the start of the game, usually for the first Forest Dungeon.

You are starting with nothing besides a campfire and a sweet little Mage / Sage guy who will start you off with the Forest Quest-line. Before talking to Sage, I would go through and gather some wood and stone so you can get good start to tools, wooden armor, and building materials.

Twigs and small rocks you can farm using no tools, so get you some stone and wood really quick so we can move over to tools!

Now that you have a little wood and stone in your inventory, laisser’s get to crafting some stone tools!

* Pioche en pierre – 5 pierre et 5 bois

* Hache de pierre – 3 Pierre et 3 bois

Now that you have your cave dweller tools, you can farm and yield more resources! As you progress in the game you will need better tools to farm better materials, so keep that in mind in your travels, for each resource you can harvest, is a resource you might need, so you are better off having too much instead of not having enough! Start mining rocks, cutting down trees and bushes, because we will be using all of it on our journey!

(Note: Keep all food seeds, like berries and potatoes, you will need these for setting up farms later and also for cooking and potion making.)

To build a home – Basic Self / NPC homes.

In this part of the guide, I will be going over a simple building setup, en utilisant:

* Stone Walls

* Stone Floors

* Stone Doors

You will need to build a Furnace to make Stone building materials or you can use the Stone Walls around the area you spawned in. (Must have at least a Stone Pickaxe to remove Stone Walls)

* Four – 10 Pierre et 5 Bois

Now the NPC’s usually ask for a 6 x 6 zone / living space. I usually do it 7 x7 so you can upgrade the house for better rewards, the better housing an NPC has, the more resources they will gather on their own. Also a 7 x 7 area is usually a decent start for your own house / base of operations.

As you are building and gathering resources, you will start to build up an inventory of items you will not be using at the moment. So you are going to need storage. To have a large storage, starting out, you will need to do 3 des choses.

* Gather enough wood for a workbench and wooden crates – which you will need 50 bois.

* Craft a Workbench to make 2 wooden crates.

* Craft a Wooden Crate Stack.

Now you have storage for any extra items you do not need at the moment, freeing up space to craft and build your home / NPC home! Remember each home will have different requirements which I will go over later, dans le « Quêtes » section of this walk-through.

After you have four walls and a door on your or NPC house, you might want to put in floors… Now before you start slapping down floor tiles and trying to figure out why your floor tile is not being placed, I am going to show you something very important in the screenshot below.

I have marked X’sare no flooring can be placed…. YET. The green check markered areas you can go on and place the flooring, the red X areas I have marked just need the grass trimmed,which can be done with a shovel or any slash based tool / arme. (Haches, poignards, épées) Once cleared you will be able to continue placing down floor tiles, which does help improve pathing for you and NPC’s, so remember to make walk paths, it will help you out when you are running between NPC’s to even going to mines / donjons.

Now as you place floor tiles, any objects that you already have placed, Caisses en bois, Four, ect. will need to be removed to place floor tiles, as you can see in the screenshot below, I removed my Furnace and a patch of grass still is there…

After you remove the object, you can finish placing your floor tiles and replace the object you had there, easy peeze, lemon squeezy!

Maintenant tu as 4 murs, une porte, nice floors, storage and crafting stations…. You will need a bed.

* Plant Fiber to make String – 2 : 1 ( 2 plant fiber per 1 chaîne)

* Pourvoyeur – 10 du bois et 5 chaîne – no crafting station required.

After crafting your outfitter you can now make String, Tissu, Cuir, and decor items. For now we need cloth which is made with string. Vous aurez besoin 2 tissu.

* Fibre végétale —–> Chaîne 2 : 1

* Chaîne —–> Tissu 3 : 1

Besoin 2 Cloth as one of the two items for crafting a bed. ( 4 : 2 )

After you have your 2 tissu, tu auras besoin 4 bois, after you have all the needed items, move over to your trusty workbench and find Cloth Bed in the right scroll menu.

After you have your new Cloth bed, place it any where you would like in your house / NPC house,

* Make sure you interact / USE your bed, this will be where you respawn if you die or logout. ( Multijoueur )
