Here I have written a guide for the weapons, artefacts, sigils, and character upgrades of Shattered: Tale of The Forgotten King. En bref, any item or system concerning fortifying the wanderer or dealing damage to enemies. Éclaté: Tale of The Forgotten King contains 8 armes, 9 artefacts, et 6 craftable sigils. Each weapon in Shattered is a variant of a sword with the same moveset but different statistics. Le 9 artefacts represent a diverse set of defensive and offensive spells. The craftable sigils are temporary consumable upgrades to the player’statistiques, which can be upgraded as well. Sans plus attendre, let us start.

Armes

The weapons in Shattered share a similar moveset but differing statistics. Damage is related to base damage before upgrades. Attack speed is related to the speed at which the weapon is swung. Lightness is related to the amount of stamina consumed per swing. Each weapon is viable for use throughout the game. Weapons are capable of light, lourd, aerial, and charged attacks. It is worth noting that parrying is not affected by attack speed or lightness.

Catharsis, Limbo Blade:

  • Emplacement: Catharsis is adjacent to the Sword of Remembrance, just a few paces from where the wanderer wakes up in Limbo. It is the default weapon acquired during the tutorial, with balanced statistics across damage, vitesse d'attaque, and lightness.
  • Statistics: Dommage: 5/10, Vitesse d'attaque: 5/10, Lightness: 5/10

Red X denotes location of Catharsis: Limbo Blade.

Narueh’s Glaive:

  • Emplacement: A cardinal sword which is acquired by defeating Prime Watcher Hod. Hod may be found in the Temple of Narueh, between the introductory area of Imbolt and the derelict Vision of Ackbar. The second weapon available to the wanderer.
  • Statistics: Dommage: 4/10, Vitesse d'attaque: 7/10, Lightness: 6/10

View of the Temple of Narueh.

Pretorian Sword:

  • Emplacement: An imposing promethean blade which is acquired by defeating a lone Pretorian Guard, found in the Agora in the center of the city of Niphur. The sword is located above the entrance to the Agora, opposite Ras’Samrah’le château.
  • Statistics: Dommage: 6/10, Vitesse d'attaque: 3/10, Lightness: 4/10

View from inside the Agora.

Sitra’s Spatha:

  • Emplacement: A cardinal sword which is acquired by defeating Prime Watcher Gheb. Gheb may be found in the Temple of Radmanthe, near the center of the Ancient Lands after leaving the Aqueducts. Fait intéressant, the sword is switched with its respective temple.
  • Statistics: Dommage: 7/10, Vitesse d'attaque: 2/10, Lightness: 3/10

View of the Temple of Radmanthe.

Radmanthe’s Dague:

  • Emplacement: A swift and light cardinal sword which is acquired by defeating Prime Watcher Yesod. Yesod may be found in the Temple of Sitra, in the upper middle of the ancient lands near Khotar. Fait intéressant, the sword is switched with its respective temple.
  • Statistics: Dommage: 3/10, Vitesse d'attaque: 8/10, Lightness: 6/10

Durga’s Claymore:

  • Emplacement: A high damage cardinal sword which is acquired by defeating Prime Watcher Kether. Kether may be found in the Temple of Durga, in the leftmost area of Myosis North. This sword deals the highest base damage with weakened speed and lightness.
  • Statistics: Dommage: 8/10, Vitesse d'attaque: 1/10, Lightness: 2/10

View of the Temple of Durga.

Elish:

  • Emplacement: A glowing hadronite blade akin to Catharsis which is acquired by defeating the fifth Dark Wanderer in the Tesseract. Note that this section of the Tesseract is accessed through the dark hexahedron in The Frontier, not in the Ancient Lands.
  • Statistics: Dommage: 4/10, Vitesse d'attaque: 7/10, Lightness: 6/10

Red X denotes location of the dark hexahedron.

Sword of Remembrance:

  • Emplacement: The Sword of Remembrance is located adjacent to Catharsis, just a few paces from where the wanderer wakes up in Limbo. The sword is locked behind 30 Memory Shards, which can be collected from fallen wanderers throughout the game.
  • Statistics: Dommage: 6/10, Vitesse d'attaque: 8/10, Lightness: 3/10

Améliorer les armes

Each of the weapons in Shattered may have their damage upgraded up to 10 levels at the Crucible in the Heart Of Limbo. The option to upgrade weapons is found under the FORGE prompt, and generally costs both essence and hadronite of varying rarity. To fully upgrade a weapon, the crucible will need to be upgraded 5 times with crucible segments scattered throughout the game. Should the wanderer spend thorough time exploring, au moins 2-3 weapons can be fully upgraded in a single playthrough. The cost associated with each weapon upgrade is listed below. The added damage per upgrade may vary with the weapon upgraded.

Niveau 1: [325] essence + [4] hadronite
Niveau 2: [423] essence + [5] hadronite
Niveau 3: [549] essence + [4] graceful hadronite
Niveau 4: [714] essence + [5] graceful hadronite
Niveau 5: [928] essence + [4] refined hadronite
Niveau 6: [1207] essence + [5] refined hadronite
Niveau 7: [1569] essence + [4] superior hadronite
Niveau 8: [2039] essence + [5] superior hadronite
Niveau 9: [2651] essence + [4] sentient hadronite
Niveau 10: [3446] essence + [2] apocryphal hadronite

Artefacts

The artefacts are fairly missable compared to the weapons, and so I have included images of their specific location. The artefacts consist of offensive and defensive spells which consume a portion of the wanderer’s total ether. Total ether may be replenished at Limbo wells or by consuming ether fragments. It is worth noting that enemies can damage the wanderer’s ether alongside their health, and so ether should be monitored while fighting. Unlike stamina, ether will not regenerate automatically.

Ether Bolt:

  • Emplacement: A projectile artefact which is acquired after first encountering the enigmatic wanderer R’lya in Limbo. It is the default artefact acquired as part of the tutorial, allowing the wanderer to cast a damaging bolt of ethereal energy.
  • Casting cost: 3 ether

Red X denotes R’lya’l'emplacement.

Oph:

  • Emplacement: An enhancer artefact which is acquired through purchase from the Medarch Valnir for 20,000 essence. The artefact may first be purchased from his location in the introductory area of Imbolt, near an Eibon fragment. Allows the wanderer to temporarily increase weapon damage.
  • Casting cost: 18 ether
  • Spell duration: 1 minute

Red X denotes Valnir’l'emplacement.

Égide:

  • Emplacement: A shield artefact which is acquired by defeating an aegis-welding guard near the center of the introductory area of Imbolt. The artefact is unmissable. The artefact allows the wanderer to cast a temporary ethereal shield.
  • Casting cost: varying stamina

Red X denotes aegis-wielding guard.

Enhanced Ether Bolt:

  • Emplacement: A stronger Ether Bolt which is acquired after giving a stolen essence to the wanderer R’yla, who resides in the Heart of Limbo. Stolen essence can be picked up after defeating Dark Wanderers. Functions as ether bolt with increased damage.
  • Casting cost: 6 ether

Void Cross:

  • Emplacement: A projectile artefact which is acquired after giving a second stolen essence to the wanderer R’yla, who resides in the Heart of Limbo. The artefact allows the wanderer to cast two projections of slashing energy with a slight charge time.
  • Casting cost: 6 ether

View of R’yla’s location in Heart of Limbo.

Aksha: Coat of Shadows:

  • Emplacement: A cloaking artefact which is acquired by unlocking the glowing door at the end of the Abandoned Bastion. Note that this section of the Abandoned Bastion is located south of Khotar beneath a strange sphere in the middle of a lake. The artefact allows the wanderer to cast a cloak of invisibility which is broken upon attacking.
  • Casting cost: 20 ether
  • Spell duration: 1 minute

Yed Prior: Serpent Fang:

  • Emplacement: A projectile artefact which is acquired from a hidden room underneath a broken floor in the middle upper levels of Khotar Stronghold. The section is guarded by a mage and a great-sword wielding guard. The artefact allows the wanderer to cast 3 fanged projections of damaging energy.
  • Casting cost: 10 ether

Red triangle denotes broken floor.

Ras Algol: Ophidian Breath:

  • Emplacement: A powerful projectile artefact which is acquired after giving Andras’ Essence to the Medarch Valnir just after defeating Andras at the summit of Khotar Stronghold. Notably used by Andras along with Yed Prior during his fight. The artefact allows the wanderer to cast a forceful beam of ethereal energy with significant charge time.
  • Casting cost: 15 ether

Green X denotes Valnir’s location after defeating Andras.

Oph: Serpent Blade:

  • Emplacement: A powerful enhancer artefact which is acquired after meeting the Medarch Valnir 5 times across Shattered. Valnir grants the wanderer Oph: Serpent Blade at his final encounter in The Frontier. The artefact allows the wanderer to temporarily increase weapon damage akin to its base version, with stronger effect.
  • Casting cost: 18 ether
  • Spell duration: 45 secondes

Red X denotes Valnir’s final location.

Sceaux

While Shattered: Tale of The Forgotten King may be easily completed without them, using sigils may benefit some wanderers, and so I briefly address them here. The sigils function as a cross between the enhancer artifacts and consumables such as life and ether fragments. Using a sigil consumes it while offering an enhancement visible in the top right of the screen. The duration of the enhancement is visualized as a bar which will drain as it runs its course. The effects of using sigils are otherwise invisible, and as such difficult to quantify (the heck is luck?). They may be created in the crucible under the CRAFT prompt as well as found scattered throughout the game.

Character Statistics and Upgrades

Our final interest concerns character statistics and upgrades. The wanderer gains strength and resilience in Shattered by killing enemies and collecting their essence, which may be brought to the Heart of Limbo and exchanged in the upgrade shrine for stat points. Stat points may be applied in 5 différents domaines: Vitalité, Endurance, Force, Mysticisme, et Connaissance. This in turn increases the wanderer’s secondary statistics: santé, endurance, ether, physical damage, ether damage, and physical and ether armors. Selecting [D'ACCORD] locks the exchanged essence. To redistribute character statistics, an essence extractor may be used to return all essence back to the wanderer. The statistics are defined as follows:

Vitalité:

  • A primary statistic which reinforces the wanderer’s total health (capacity to receive damage).

Endurance:

  • A primary statistic which reinforces the wanderer’s total stamina (capacity for attack and movement) and increases their physical armor (resilience of health to damage).

Force:

  • A primary statistic which increases the wanderer’s total physical damage (damage inflicted with weapons).

Mysticisme:

  • A primary statistic which increases the wanderer’s total ether damage (damage of casting spells) and increases their ether armor (resilience of ether to damage).

Connaissance:

  • A primary statistic which reinforces the wanderer’s total ether (capacity for casting spells).
