This guide will show you the MewnBase walkthrough, as well as some tips and tricks that you should know to improve your overall gameplay.

Commencer

Au début, you must first collect the two crates, and assemble your base. Alors, collect stones and scrap metal to craft a shovel, then start collecting ore. Once you have one smelter, two generators, and one research lab, you can start looking for artifacts.

Artifacts are black cubes, and they are the most important resource of the game. You need to process them in the research lab to gain science, and make progress. Artifacts appear in bright green on the map.

Pour cette première étape, you need to research the first three technologies: construction, outils, et stockage. Toi, donc, besoin 3 artefacts.

Outils, storage and food

Once you have the first three technologies, you can start to get things done.

The construction technology allows you to expand your base by building new rooms in the construction lab. Each room requires some metal, but also some gasket. To get some, you need to collect plants, as they will randomly drop resin, which you can then refine into a gasket.

The tools technology gives you access to three new tools: an improved shovel, an axe, and a jackhammer. Enfiler’t build the shovel before your previous one breaks, as the improved shovel is not faster, it just lasts longer. The axe is useful for cutting trees and fighting those slightly annoying aliens. The jackhammer is mostly useless and I wouldn’t recommend building it: it allows you to break big rocks, but we will soon have better ways to do that anyway.

Build a few storages to empty your inventory and make your life easier, before going for three new technologies: pouvoir, chemistry, et des piles. You can skip flooring and food production because they are not necessary.

As for cooking, it is not necessary to research the technology to finish the game, but it is very handy, as it allows you to craft the hearty meal, the best meal in the game, way better than the plant soup or the raw fruits.

Power and batteries

If you have researched power, chemistry, et des piles, you can now generate renewable power, instead of having to feed your generators.

For the simplest energy setup, you need a few solar panels and a few batteries. Place the panels and the batteries near your base, and connect them with cables if necessary. Note that buildings automatically connect with their four neighbors, donc tu ne’t need to put cables everywhere.

Le prochain (et le plus important) research will be transportation. I know it is getting more and more tedious to find new artifacts, keep up the good work, things are about to improve!

Buggie!

Once you have the transportation, you can craft a garage, and then your first vehicle, the buggie! The buggie allows you to travel faster, and therefore scout for artifacts further away from your base. Make sure to go back to your base before the batteries run dry and before your O2 depletes, otherwise you’je vais passer un mauvais moment. Also try to avoid hitting too many rocks with your buggie, as it is quite fragile.

At your base, park your buggie on top of the garage to recharge its battery and repair it completely.

Now that you have access to easy science, it is time to research advanced modules, crystal tech, and dozer.

Crystal mining

You are approaching the end of the game, and you now have access to the best vehicle/tool: the dozer.

The dozer is a big vehicle, slower than the buggie, but which can mine the object in front of it (you just need to press space to mine). It can mine all the rocks, all the things on the ground (pierres, minerais, glace), and also cut down trees. It cannot collect grass, roots, and blueshrooms however. It also has internal storage where everything it mines is stored. You can access it with RMB.

Unlike the buggie, the dozer regenerates your O2 while you are inside, so you can travel much longer. Toujours, make sure not to run out of battery.

You also unlocked the pickaxe, but it is not required at all, since the dozer is just better, et, unlike the pickaxe, ce n'est pas le cas’t require crystals.

To prepare for the end of the game, you now enter a grinding phase. You need to collect great quantities, of resources, à savoir:

  • Minerai. This is fairly easy to do with the dozer, et toi’ll need a lot of it
  • Purrtainium. It is obtained from the purple rocks, you just need to mine them with the dozzer. They appear purple on the map.
  • Cristaux. Vous ne’t need a lot of it, just enough to build the advanced fabricator. Pour le trouver, you need to find a volcanic biome by exploring the map. Those biomes feature small and big volcanoes, cristaux, and sometimes some purrtainium. They appear the darkest on the map.
  • Artefacts, because you always need more of them.

Toi’ll also need a lot of power, therefore it is time to start crafting RTGs. Pour ce faire, you need to collect uranium from the green rocks (or from regular rocks with a low probability), and then refine it. RTGs are generators that don’t need fuel, they will produce energy forever, gratuitement, and at a constant rate. Si, at any point, you run out of power, you probably need more of those!

The next technologies to research are navigation and rocketry.

Rocket science!

It is time to launch your rocket and win the game. Pour ce faire, you need to craft a rocket first. This takes a lot of resources, and especially a lot of purrtainium.

I would strongly recommend an automated smelting facility: place an auto-crafter near storage and a furnace, and make the auto-crafter craft metal plate, purrtainium plate, or nuclear fuel, this will save you a lot of time.

To build the rocket, toi’j'aurai besoin:

  • A launch pad
  • A fuel refinery
  • A fuel storage
  • Two rocket engines
  • Two rocket hulls
  • A flight control

All of them can be found in the advanced fabricator. If you are low on resin, you can obtain more in the chemistry lab in exchange for some grass, which makes the hunt for resin easier.

Build the fuel refinery/storage first, as the refinery needs to fill the storage. When you have everything, go to the launch pad, build the rocket inside of it, and launch for the stars!
