A listing of all the achievements in Janken Cards and how to get them.
Why this guide?
Je sais ce que tu’Réflexion probablement. Why in the world did I write this guide? Janken Cards is a very little-known game, Et pour une bonne raison. It is incredibly buggy, riddled with typos, has no mouse support, and a practically nonexistent player base. En plus de ça, the game isn’t terribly entertaining. It has an interesting premise, but the game is poorly executed.
Toujours, you might find that you have this boondoggle in your library. Et, pour être honnête, c'est vraiment le cas’t too difficult to get a good portion of the achievements. It just takes some time to get them all done.
Looking at the global achievement list, il’s obvious that most of the players have used Steam Achievement Manager to check off the achievements in this game. How else would you be able to explain that more people have managed to complete 50 Tournaments than those who have completed 10? But if you are the kind of person (comme moi) who refuses to resort to such obvious cheating methods, et toi’re still determined to get all the achievements in this game, lire.
How To Play
Probablement, you are familiar with the game “osciller, papier, scissors.” Two players choose one of three signs, and the winner is determined by whatever “beats” l'autre. Rock breaks scissors, scissors cut paper and paper covers rock. Janken Cards takes this concept and turns it into a card game.
The two players have a tableau of five columns with some cards already dealt to it. Each player has a hand of three cards, visible to the other player. They play cards to the tableau, and if they play a card that would “défaite” the one(s) above it, they score points. Par exemple, if someone played a scissors card on a paper card, the paper card is eliminated and that player scores points based on how far down the column that paper card was located. If there were multiple paper cards in sequence, the scissors would eliminate each one, and that player would gets points for every card. toutefois, sois prudent! If the player eliminates the top most card of the column, then the column will be awarded to his or her opponent. De même, if a player places a card in the final spot and all the cards are not matching (par exemple. all scissors) then that column is awarded to the opponent. If a player is able to score three columns, they win the game – sinon, play ends when the draw pile is completely depleted, and the player with the highest amount of points is declared the winner.
Even though a good portion of the game relies on luck, there are some strategy elements to it. Do you try to win by claiming the most columns? Or will you go ahead and sacrifice a column or two to your opponent in order to get more points?
One good strategy is to keep an eye on what your opponent has in its hand. Laisser’s say that there is a column of rock. It is your turn and you have paper, but no rock. Your opponent, pourtant, has two rock cards. It might be best to go ahead and play your paper card on the rock column. Bien sûr, the column will be awarded to your opponent, mais toi’ll at least get some points out of it.
Ce n'est pas le cas’t take long to figure out a basic strategy against your opponent, and once you get a good system down and start winning consistently, the game kind of gets boring at that point. It becomes much more luck-based, rather than skill. Nothing is more annoying in this game than stacking up a bunch of score multiplier cards and then ending up with no way to score points.
Donc, with the basic rules out of the way, laisser’s look at the achievements!
Réalisations de base
Gagnant – Win one game
Serial Winner – Gagner 10 jeux
Century Winner – Gagner 100 jeux
Incredible Winner – Gagner 500 jeux
Quand tu démarres le jeu, you will be prompted to make a profile. Go ahead and do so, then keep with this profile for all of the basic achievements. The game will only look at this primary profile for a good portion of the achievements. If you make multiple profiles, the games and time you spend are NOT cumulative. So you will want to do most of your winning – and playing – with this first profile.
Endurance – Jouer 1 heure
Super Stamina – Jouer 10 heures
Epic Stamina – Jouer 50 heures
Comme mentionné ci-dessus, the game will only look at one of the profiles to determine if these times are met, and not add up the times for all the profiles. En outre, since each turn has a time limit, it is these that are added up to determine the actual time played. Tu peux’t just leave the game running overnight to get these achievements without the help of an auto-clicker. Ceci étant dit, you can still “fromage” some of these.
One of the settings you can tweak is how long you have to make your move, with the maximum duration being 60 secondes. This can be done in the “choix” menu, as you can see from the screenshot below.
So once you have set the timer to 60 secondes, go ahead and go into a “Quick Match” and make sure you choose the “Spécial” jeu.
Janken Cards will now go ahead and play for you. It will select the card that is furthest to the right (the one closest to the tableau) et, once the timer counts down to zero, play it to a random, open column. Unless it is a special card, bien sûr – then that card’s effect go into play. Donc, for the first play, if you see a score multiplier or a “take two turns” card in your hand, Sélectionnez celui-là, mais ne’t play it – let the timer count down, plutôt. Then just walk away from your computer for a bit. Go read a book, get some food, faire une sieste, nourrir le chat, or whatever chores you have to attend to. Check on Janken Cards every half hour or so, and if the game is finished (you will probably lose) simply hit “entrer” to start a new game and resume your previous duties. Il’s a good way to play the game without actually playing the game. Parce que, laisser’faisons-y face, we can probably think of many other things more entertaining than playing Janken Cards. Washing the dishes, Par exemple.
Collectionneur – Unlock all avatars.
Il y a au total 16 avatars in the game. Only half of them will be available at the start of the game. Plus tu joues, the more will be unlocked. You should get all of them well before you get close to completing many of these other achievements.
Game Winning Achievements
Vous ne’t have to get any of these with your primary profile, but it wouldn’ça fait mal (especially if you are trying to win a certain number of games). Any of these can be achieved in any mode, including two-player modes where you play against another human player. Since on-line multiplayer isn’t a factor in Janken Cards, cependant, you may as well be that second player. (Why would you want to subject someone else to this game, de toute façon?)
Columnist – Win a game by columns
Keep Clear – Gagner 3-0 colonnes
Toi’ll probably get both of these at the same time. Simply win one game by claiming three columns. These two achievements don’t get much more basic than that.
Manita – Gagner 5-0 colonnes
This one is trickier, and would probably be easiest by making a second profile and playing a 2-player “Contre” jeu. It is only possible by using the “double highest card” carte. You need to set up the board so that each column consists of only one symbol – Par exemple, a column of scissors, a column pf papers, a column of rocks, etc.. This can be done with only three open columns, as long as the other two have been claimed by the player who will be using the “duplicate highest row” carte. Once all the conditions are met, simply play that special card and the remaining three columns will go to the winner.
Top Scorer – Win a game by points.
C'est assez explicite. If the draw deck is completely exhausted and no player has claimed at least three columns, then the winner is determined by whoever has the most points.
Make a difference – Win by 1000 points.
Make a big difference – Win by 5000 points
Make a huge difference – Win by 10000 points
These achievements can be gained by scoring significantly more than your opponent. This is easiest by playing against another player, so versus is a good way to go. Alternativement, you can create a total of eight profiles and go through tournament mode for more opportunities to get these achievements. Tout simplement, the winner of the match has to win by points, and they have to have more than the opponent. Par exemple, pour “Make a big difference” they need to have 5,000 more points than the opponent by the end of the match.
Il va sans dire, the score multipliers are critically important to getting some of these numbers. If a game starts with a player having one (ou plus) of these in their hand, then perhaps work on building up columns with similar icons until that player has several score multipliers or “take another turn” cartes. When the opportunity presents itself, play these special cards – and any similar ones that may happen to show up – before playing your rock, paper or scissors on the tableau. Enfiler’t hesitate to destroy an entire column if you have to. If you manage to get your multiplier up to 16 – ou même 32 ou 64 – you should be able to get the points pretty quickly. Then it will be a simple matter to run down the pile until the end of the game. Just make sure that no one wins by columns before that time, and that one of your characters has the required number over the other.
Tout – Score 15’000 points
I think this achievement may be bugged, and not just because of the typo in the achievement description. It popped for me when I won a match with 10,600 points, rather than the expected 15,000. toutefois, I have to wonder if it counts all the points won over the course of a tournament, since I was going through tournament mode when it happened. Dans tous les cas, you may end up getting this one while trying to obtain the “Make a huge difference” réalisation.
Adventurer Mode
Aventurier – Complete Adventure
Expert Adventurer – Complet 10 Aventures
Master Adventurer – Complet 50 Aventures
Adventure mode is like an extended version of the “Quick Play” Modes. You choose your profile, then you have to play through a sequence of eight games against random opponents. You only have three lives, represented by hearts next to your character. If you lose three games, you lose the adventure.
toutefois, there is a way to “fromage” ce. Si tu te sens comme toi’re going to lose the game, you can hit the “s'échapper” key and either return to the menu or start the game over. This will count as a loss in your win-loss count, but you will not lose a heart. Par conséquent, you can replay any match without losing any of your hearts. Just remember that you can’t hit the escape key while your opponent is making their play. So you need to think about what your opponent is doing and plan accordingly. je’ve lost quite a few games by the opponent suddenly coming from behind on the final turn to steal victory from me!
Also take note – by getting the “Master Adventurer” achievement you will have won 400 matchs. So by using this technique you should make significant progress toward the “Incredible Winner” réalisation aussi.
Tu peux’t see how many adventures you have completed, malheureusement. You may want to keep a separate document open on your computer so you can keep a running tally as you go.
Clean Adventurer – Complete Adventure withou loosing a life.
Remember what I said about the game being riddled with typos? Not even the achievement descriptions get away with it. But this achievement also is bugged. Using the technique I mentioned above it’s actually pretty easy to win without “loosing” a life. But what Janken Cards wants is for you to complete adventure mode without losing a single game! This is much tricker, mais avec 50 chances to get through it, and once you develop a solid, consistent strategy, you should be able to get it done.
Tournament Mode
Champion – Win a Tournament
Mega Champion – Gagner 10 Tournaments
Epic Champion – Gagner 50 Tournaments
Tournament mode has eight players dueling it out in a bracketed format. Each round, one player will be eliminated from each matchup, and the winner will go against the winner of the adjacent bracket. So the winning player basically needs to win three games in a row. You can have the computer play the other seven opponents, or fill each one of them with “humain” joueurs. toutefois, take note that winning against all humans does not seem to count toward the tournament wins. (je’m still testing this out – if I find a way to « fromage » this part, je’ll update the guide accordingly.) Also note that you can’t use the same technique that I mentioned above in adventure mode to “fromage” the win. If you go back to the menu, the game will count it as a loss – and may lock up on you as well when you go back into tournament mode, forcing you to force-quit the program. (I did mention that the game is full of bugs, n'a-t-il pas’t I?)
