Saleté 4 – Guide de configuration du Logitech G923

Si tu’re one of the players who keep on rebinding the keys and controls in Dirt 4 while using Logitech G923, ici’s a simple trick that will keep your binding after restarting the game. This method will trick the game into thinking that you are using G29 instead of G923.

G923 Device ID

First we need to find the correct ID for the G923.

Navigate to your Devices and Printers in Control Panel. You will find you G923 listed there. Right click it and open Properties. Under the Hardware tab select your Logitech G Hub G923 and click Properties. Then under the Details tab select Hardware Ids under the drop down menu.

Here you will have a Value that looks like this:

USB\VID_046D&PID_C266&REV_3800&MI_00 

The numbers you need are the four digits after VID_ and PID_.

For me it was « 046D » et « C266 ».

Copy these numbers or right them down.

Il’s important to remember which on was VID and which was PID!

Editing device_defines.xml

Suivant, we need to edit the device_defines.xml file. Par défaut, il est situé dans

\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\DiRT 4\input\devices\

We recommend making a backup copy of the file first. Once you have a backup file, open the device_defines.xml file and search or scroll down to the Logitech section.

Since I have the PS G923 I edited under the PC and PS4 section. If you have the Xbox version of the G923 you can edit it under the PC & XOne section. Bien que, Je n'en ai pas’t think it really matters because Dirt 4 will just label your buttons in-game with generic numbers.

Now you must replace the first eight digits of the id for the G29 entry with the digits you copied from your Hardware id for your G923.

Note: The order of the numbers is reversed! So the four PID digits are first followed by the four VID digits.

Hence my entry looks like this:

Save the file and start DiRT 4.

If it works right the game will have to default key mappings for your wheel. Pour moi, the label is still G923 in-game but I no longer have to bind the keys.

As far as I can tell you can still calibrate the wheel with no problem. I have Logitech G Hub set at 540 degrees and the wheel feels just as good as when I bound the keys to a custom mapping.
