This guide hosts everything you will need to know for this game, from tips and tricks to myth-busting.
First, I will go over the basics for the characters and camera.
Bonnie is the first, but not the easiest, animatronic that you will encounter in the game. Bonnie is the most active animatronic in the first 5 nights. Bonnie will make his way towards your left door and will appear in front of the left door before attacking you. Bonnie appears in the show stage, backstage, dining area, supply closet, west hall, west hall corner, and the left office door. You should check the lights for the left door after putting the camera down, and if Bonnie is there you should close the door as fast as you can in order to avoid the buttons jamming if you are too slow.
Chica is the second animatronic that you will encounter in the game. Chica first appears on the second night. Chica will make her way to the right door and will appear in front of the right door before attacking you. Chica appears in the show stage, dining area, restrooms, kitchen, east hall, and the right office door. You should check the lights for the right door after putting the camera down, and if Chica is there you should close the door as fast as you can in order to avoid the buttons jamming if you are too slow.
Foxy is the third animatronic that you will encounter in the game. Foxy first can appear on the second night but is very unlikely to. Foxy appears in the pirate cove, west hall, and left office door. He starts in the pirate cove and goes through stages before running down the west hall and to the left door. The curtains will first remain closed, then he will look outside of the curtains, then he will lean outside of the curtains. When the curtains appear fully opened and Foxy is not there, do not look at the west hall camera. You should flip the camera down and quickly close the left door. He will bang on the door and drain some power, starting at 1%, and then jumping up 6% every time after that. To delay his stages, you should look at the cameras as often as you can.
Freddy is the last animatronic that you will encounter in the game. He appears on the third night. Freddy is a very low AI level in the non-custom nights, but still difficult to deal with. He appears in the show stage, backstage, dining area, restrooms, kitchen, east hall, and east hall corner. When he is in the east hall corner, there are two ways to keep him in place. 1. (Recommended) Keep your camera on the east hall corner and do not look at other cameras. 2. Close the right door before every time you pull up the camera to prevent Freddy from entering your office while you are in the cameras.
Strategies for Specific Nights and 4/20 mode
On every night including the custom night, Bonnie will level up by 1 at 2 AM, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy will level up by 1 at 3 AM, and Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy will level up by 1 at 4 AM. The power will also drain by -1% every 6 seconds on night 2, -1% every 5 seconds on night 3, -1% every 4 seconds on night 4, and -1% every 3 seconds on night 5 / 6. You should mute the call on every night because the call will drain power.
Bonnie is the main “threat” in this first night, he is enabled at 2 AM at level 1. Chica and Foxy will be enabled at 3 AM at level 1, and Bonnie will level up another level as well. Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy will gain another level at 4 AM. You should not use anything until 2 AM as to not waste power. Once 2 AM comes, you should check the show stage every once in a while. Feel free to experiment with the cameras and the buttons in the office, you will need it for the next nights. If you have more than 25% power at 5 AM, you can close both doors and not run out of power. Do not open the cameras or use the flashlight when doing this as you will most likely run out of power.
Night 2 is another easy night, with Bonnie being enabled at level 3, Chica is enabled at level 1, and Foxy is enabled at level 1. You should check the show stage every once in a while. If Bonnie leaves the stage, you should check the left light every time you put the camera down and put the door down if you see Bonnie standing in the doorway. If Chica leaves the stage, you should check the right light every time you put the camera down and put the door down if you see Chica standing in the doorway. Foxy should not be a problem on this night, if you do lose to Foxy you are very unlucky.
Night 3 is where “things get real”, as the phone guy says in night 2. Freddy becomes active in this night with a level of 1. Bonnie is not activated until 2 AM when his level increases. Chica is enabled at level 5, and Foxy is enabled at level 2. You should check the show stage somewhat frequently, and if you want to you can check pirate cove to be aware of Foxy’s stage. If Chica leaves the stage, you should check the right flashlight and close the door if she appears in the doorway.
If Foxy is in his leaning stage, be ready to close the left door every time you exit the cameras. If Bonnie leaves the stage, you should check the left flashlight and close the door if he appears in the doorway. If Freddy leaves the stage, you are in trouble. Make sure to keep track of him, because if he is in the east hallway corner and the right door is not closed, once you put the camera up it is game over. When he is in the east hallway corner, you should keep your camera on him at all times and follow these steps: 1. Check the east hallway corner with the cameras. 2. Check both of the flashlights and close the door(s) if either Bonnie or Chica appears. 3. Repeat.
Night 4 is the only night with a somewhat random level for Freddy or any character. Freddy can be either level 1 or level 2 when the night starts. Bonnie starts as level 2, Chica starts with level 4, and Foxy starts with level 6. Foxy will be your main concern on this night, he is the most active he will be in the first 5 nights. You should use the same strategy for the next nights: Check the east hallway corner for Freddy to cam lock him, check the left and right flashlights for Bonnie and Chica and close the doors respectively, and be ready to close the left door if you hear Foxy running down the hallway.
Night 5 is not much different except that it is harder. Freddy is level 3, Bonnie is level 5, Chica is level 7, and Foxy is level 5. Use the same strategy that you used in night 4. Foxy will be your main concern.
Night 6 / Nightmare Night
*has PTSD from this night* Oh No. This is really hard. Freddy is level 4, Bonnie is level 10, Chica is level 12, and Foxy is level 16. Your main concern will be Foxy again. Same strategy as before.
Custom Night / 4/20
If you thought this game couldn’t get any harder, oh boy were you mistaken. If you wish to beat 4/20 mode, prepare to spend a long time on this night. Prepare some mental exercises and your mouse, because you will be using the same strategy as before but pretty much perfectly.
True or False: Foxy will only be slowed down if the camera is on the pirate cove.
Answer: False. This is a common misconception probably because of what the phone guy says on night 3 about him.
