This is a guide explaining the mechanics, logros, and collectible items of Trawl.
Game Mechanic Overview
Welcome aboard!
In Trawl, you must drive your boat across the sea by night. You are alone on board, but you can write letters, send them out as messages in bottles, and of course trawl the sea for collectible items.
How you discover these collectible items is pretty interesting.
In the cabin, you’ll notice the
Volantefor setting the direction of travel, el
Aceleradorfor taking the ship in that direction, and on the console rests a
Radio. The Radio works as a homing beacon of sorts when you’re closing in on an item. Turn the Steering Wheel until the Radio starts to sing. That’ll be where you want to head using the Throttle. But let’s check out the back of the boat first.
Take note of the actual device used to trawl the waters. You need to familiarize yourself with how it works. The lever near the aft of the boat swings the net, which can bring it in over the bed. This will be how you retrieve items from the sea or launch for another search. The lever attached to the bed when pulled away from you will drop the net into the water. When pulled toward you, it will bring the net back to the surface. You’ll need to listen for both the singing from the
Radioand when the overhead
Campanastarts ringing.
Finalmente, el
Campana, once you’ve successfully followed the Radio’s guidance to an item’s location, you’ll stop the boat, and the Bell will continue tolling until you’ve drawn up your catch.
When you want to send the net out again, remember to close the it back up. Otherwise you sure won’t catch anything!
Mensajes & botellas
You can use the typewriter below deck to write out a message. The game will automatically make a record of the 3 items you can collect during a run.
You can also stuff the notes you take when you’re done into a bottle and toss it into the sea. I guess since you’re taking things out, makes sense to give something back to her?
NOTA: Throwing a message in a bottle into the sea will end the game. Make sure you’re all finished with your game session before you do this.
Give jotting down what you find a try and you’ll unlock the
EscritorAchievement the moment you start writing.
Bottle up one of your lists or letters and toss it into the sea to get the
Litter BugLogro.
Trawling Sessions
Coleccionando 3 items during a single game session will cause the
Radioto die. You cannot search for anything else after this happens. Sin embargo, once you’ve collected 3 items during the course of a Trawl run, this will give you the
ColeccionistaLogro. The 2nd screenshot under this is an example from one of my runs while building this guide.
Once you’ve completed a session, head to the front of the ship via either side and drop the
Anclato end your current game session.
Finishing a successful Trawling run will unlock the
TrawlerLogro.

Uno de los 39* items is a
Busted Briefcasethat features a model of a street of apartment buildings. I believe this is an Easter Egg from one of the developer’s other games.
Attaining and checking out this item will give you the
MerodeadorLogro.
NOTA: While building this guide I noticed what seems like Jazz music plays when you discover this item.
*Al momento de escribir, I have confirmed 39
objetos diferentesthat you can retrieve from the sea.
The Full Collection
While there’s no Achievement for doing this, but this is a comprehensive list of all the items I’ve seen myself or noticed from other players. I’ll certainly do my best to confirm for myself, but the sea can be a cruel mistress. Please let me know if there’s an item you’ve found during your trawling adventures that hasn’t been documented here!
