This guide contains various maneuvers that can be useful for anyone trying to get gold medals and/or improve one’s moving skills as a solo player.
Terminologies
- Light item: An item that can be held and still allow the player to jump. Por ejemplo, cajas, sillas, and briefcases.
- Medium item: An item that can only be dragged, and its size is roughly the same as the player’s character. Por ejemplo, pinball machines, fridges, and round tables.
- Heavy item: An item that can only be dragged, and its size is larger than the player’s character. Por ejemplo, couches, pianos, y camas.
Jump Throw
This technique is briefly hinted at in one of the in-game tips and is very useful for maximizing the distance covered by throwing an item or increasing the height at which an item is thrown.
Hold onto a light item.
Press the jump button.
At the height of the jump, throw your held item.
Swing Throw
Sometimes when moving a medium item, it tends to swing around and can even put your character off-balance with its momentum. En algunos casos, you can use this to your advantage to swing it in a particular direction without having to spend time manually dragging the object.
Hold onto a medium item.
Pull the item in a given direction, but make sure you’re moving such that the item being held swings around.
Release the item.
Si se hace correctamente, the item will be thrown with some force.
Edge Grab
Capitalizing on some of the more unusual physics mechanics in the game, you can use held items as a way to recover from falling when you make a jump that you normally wouldn’t be able to make.
Hold onto a light item.
Press the jump button and jump towards a location with an edge.
Si se hace correctamente, your held item will cause your character to dangle in mid-air, with the held item on the edge.
Press the jump button and jump onto the surface of the initial location in step 2.
Haul
When you’re pulling a medium or heavy item, you can briefly increase the speed by a small amount when you pull that item. This can be useful for situations like pulling upside down items or pulling heavy items up a sloped surface.
Hold onto a heavy item.
Pull the item and press the jump button while moving it.
Si se hace correctamente, your character should be able to move the item slightly faster than just dragging it. If you look close enough, your character will also appear to put in more effort when pulling the item.
Cushioning
Fragile boxes normally break when thrown onto a surface, but not so if that surface happens to be a movable item such as a couch or a pile of boxes.
Set up an area with multiple light items bunched up together or with one large item.
Hold onto a fragile box.
Throw the fragile box onto the items set up in step 1.
Si se hace correctamente, the fragile box will not break after landing.
