With all these attributes, the Witch is your best choice for consistently successful runs.

Amazing Economy

Completing a level without taking damage rewards you with a generous 6 oro, a feat that may appear challenging initially. Botín, Impecable, and Magic Hoard offer various benefits, with Magic Hoard providing a notable energy boost. School of Power upgrades reduce energy costs for power spells, Meditation further reduces energy costs on 0-tile terrain, and Surprise adds extra damage to hidden enemies, greatly enhancing the Witch’s offensive capabilities.

Dark Energy

The Witch’s critical ability allows her to replenish all energy at the cost of a 10-turn cooldown and reveals/summons additional monsters with each use. This ability is best employed after the king has been revealed to replenish energy between stages. In emergencies, it can even be used before locating the king, although this tactic imposes a time limit due to incoming new monsters.

General Playstyle

Out of combat, employ logic to explore as many tiles as possible, leaving only unidentifiable ones unexplored. Teleport can be used to bridge gaps efficiently due to its low cost. Avoid unnecessary risks to ensure you obtain the 6 gold bonus for completing a level without taking damage.

Use Pyrokinesis on unexplored tiles to reveal new areas for logical exploration. If it reveals enemies too tough to defeat, utilize Banish. At dead ends, prioritize visiting vendors. At the Smith, aim for the Surprise perk if possible, but be cautious of increasing reroll costs. The Gym is ideal for upgrading Pyrokinesis, energy-related perks, and other damage spells. At Chovey’s, stock up on useful consumable items whenever available, as they are crucial for facing the King on the final stage or escaping tricky situations. Purchasing energy and health upgrades at Chovey’s is less important, as they can be considered gold sinks. Sin embargo, on NG+5, where Pyrokinesis costs 6 energy and you start with 14, acquiring +2 energy from Chovey allows you to cast an additional Pyrokinesis on that difficulty.

On levels that feature a trumpeter, attempt to eliminate them quickly, using long-range Pyrokinesis, teleport banish, consumibles, and other tactics. Levels become substantially easier when you’re not under a combat timer.
