Here’s a simple guide to help you avoid the Medikit bug in the original Commandos 3 game or on the Original difficulty in the remastered version.
About the Bug
In Commandos 3, the game creators set up a system where medikits are supposed to be used automatically when your character takes damage. Sin embargo, it seems they made medikits weaker before the game was released and didn’t double-check if this feature still worked properly.
On the Original Difficulty setting (it seems the boosted Medikit healing in Rookie mode accidentally solves this issue), if a Commando takes a lot of damage from an MP40 or picks up Medikits while hurt, todo 5 medikits can be used up for the health of just one medikit.
Como puedes imaginar, this makes an already challenging game even more difficult. Pero no te preocupes, I’ve found a way to get around this problem.
Medikit Bug Workaround
In C3 Rookie mode, you won’t encounter this bug we talked about earlier. But for Original difficulty and the original game, we have to find a way around it:
While you could just put the medikits in a Commando’s inventory who is out of harm’s way, that’s not always possible, especially in solo missions.
The workaround is pretty simple. You need to place your medikits in a container, like a crate or a dead body. When you find medikits while you’re hurt and in a container, take them out one by one. Hold the SHIFT key and click on a medikit to take a single one from the stack. Put it in your inventory and close the menu.
That one medikit will be used automatically. Repeat this process until you stop using medikits automatically, and then you can store them back in the container.
