This guide will show you how to easily unlock and obtain the achievement called “A Lost Soul” in Ember. Similar to the The Cult Lies Beneath achievement, this one is also tied to a side quest in the game.
How to Unlock A Lost Soul Achievement
A Lost Soul
Discover what has happened to Gloria and her missing husband Davey.
As you journey, you’ll stumble upon the Bog of Souls map. It’s a crucial part of the main quest, so you can’t really overlook it. It’s in this area where you’ll discover the “A Lost Soul” side quest. Now, make your way over to the “Your Location” marker indicated on the map provided below.
Once you arrive at the designated spot, you’ll meet a dying man named Liam. He’s clinging to life on a rickety wooden bridge. It’s decision time for you: lend a hand and help him out, or stand by and watch him fade away.
If you opt to assist Liam by providing him with the Spikey Muskweed, he’ll be indebted to you and offer his aid when you confront the boss in this side quest. On the flip side, if you decide to let him perish, he’ll return as a vengeful ghost, potentially causing trouble later on. It’s a pretty straightforward decision when you consider the benefits.
Liam’s request entails fetching the Spikey Muskweed herb. Once you’ve procured it and returned to him, administer the herb to heal him, and then proceed across the bridge.
Follow the path onward until you encounter Albert. He’ll implore you to rescue Gloria. Continue your journey toward the designated marker on your map from there.
In the end, you’ll face off against the Soul Collector. If you rescued Liam, he’ll lend a hand in the fight. However, if Liam perished due to your actions, he’ll turn against you, adding an extra layer of challenge to the encounter.
After defeating the Soul Collector, you’ll have the option to use the Phylactery to save Albert or not. Opting to save him might grant you more experience points, while choosing not to do so could fetch you a hefty sum if you sell the potion instead. The decision is yours to make, weighing the benefits of each choice carefully.
