Klarinetta’s sword movement seens confusing at first, but it’s easier than it looks.
Initial Considerations
To facilitate explanation, in this guide I’ll be using the following symbols to represent key combos:
- → + ↑ =
- → + ↓ =
- ← + ↑ =
- ← + ↓ =
Basic Information
Klarinetta’s Zweihänder is her default (and unswitchable) weapon, wich occupies one of her diagonals tiles at all time and deals 1 damage alone. Swinging the sword will use 1 beat and will prevent Klarinetta to move in that same beat.
There are two ways that the Zweihänder can damage enemies:
However, while staying still, Zweihänder will block enemies movement in a way that, if possible, they will avoid the weapon, if not, they will stay still.
Swinging Zweihänder
Swinging Klarinetta’s sword without any tutorial can be overwhelming, specially under pressure, because of that, it’s highly recommended that No Beat Mode is used for a slow and calm training.
Zweihänder can be swung using diagonals key combos (↖ ↗ ↙ ↘), because of that, all slots that use diagonals combos are locked or swapped. Also, pressing an opposite or equal combo to the direction where the sword is facing will trigger a 180º swing that hits 4 tiles at once.
Zweihänder’s 180º swings are based on a clockwise/counter-clockwise movement system that will always prioritize clockwise swings.
In other words, if the sword is facing ↘, pressing ↖ will trigger a clockwise swing ( ↻ ), not the opposite.
On the other hand, pressing in the same direction of the sword will trigger a counter-clockwise swing ( ↺ ).
That's everything we are sharing today for this Crypt of the NecroDancer guide. This guide was originally created and written by Douglaaas. In case we fail to update this guide, you can find the latest update by following this link.
Thanks for writing the article, the clockwise information is helpful!
