A quick guide on how to use the Loading Screen Mod to hide unwanted vanilla roads.
Who this guide is for
- You are using Vanilla+ roads, including some or all of those which have a direct equivalent in the vanilla game (i.e. the Vanilla± sub-collection).
- You want to hide the equivalent vanilla roads.
Prerequisites
Step-by-step instructions
Open the Loading Screen Mod settings and ensure “prefab skipping” is enabled. Create an empty text file which will list the prefabs to skip if one doesn’t exist already.
Copy-and-paste the following text into that file:
Networks: # Vanilla+ equivalent: "3-Lane (1+2) Two-Way Road without Parking" Asymmetrical Three Lane Road Asymmetrical Three Lane Road Bridge Asymmetrical Three Lane Road Elevated Asymmetrical Three Lane Road Slope Asymmetrical Three Lane Road Tunnel # Vanilla+ equivalent: "4-Lane Avenue with Parking and Trees" # Note: Bridge and tunnel networks not skipped as shared with non-tree variants Medium Road Decoration Trees # Vanilla+ equivalent: "2-Lane Two-Way Road without Parking" # Note: Bridge and tunnel networks not skipped as shared with "with parking" and other variants Small Road with Wide Sidewalks # Vanilla+ equivalent: "2-Lane One-Way Road without Parking" # Note: Bridge and tunnel networks not skipped as shared with "with parking" and other variants Small Oneway Road with Wide Sidewalks # Vanilla+ equivalent: "2-Lane Avenue without Parking", "2-Lane Avenue with Grass without Parking" and "2-Lane Avenue with Trees without Parking" Small Road with Median Small Road with Median Bridge Small Road with Median Elevated Small Road with Median Slope Small Road with Median Tunnel Small Road with Grass Median Small Road with Tree Median # Vanilla+ equivalent: "2-Lane Avenue with Bike Lanes" # Note: Bridge and tunnel networks not skipped as shared with grass and tree variants Small Road with Median and Bike Lanes # Vanilla+ equivalent: "3-Lane One-Way Road without Parking" Small 3 Lane 1 Way Road Small 3 Lane 1 Way Road Bridge Small 3 Lane 1 Way Road Elevated Small 3 Lane 1 Way Road Slope Small 3 Lane 1 Way Road Tunnel # Vanilla+ equivalent: "4-Lane One-Way Road without Parking" Small 4 Lane 1 Way Road Small 4 Lane 1 Way Road Bridge Small 4 Lane 1 Way Road Elevated Small 4 Lane 1 Way Road Slope Small 4 Lane 1 Way Road Tunnel # Vanilla+ equivalent: "4-Lane Two-Way Road without Parking" Small 4 Lane Road Small 4 Lane Road Bridge Small 4 Lane Road Elevated Small 4 Lane Road Slope Small 4 Lane Road Tunnel # Vanilla+ equivalent: "4-Lane Two-Way Road with Bus Lanes" Small 4 Lane Road with Bus Lanes Small 4 Lane Road with Bus Lanes Bridge Small 4 Lane Road with Bus Lanes Elevated Small 4 Lane Road with Bus Lanes Slope Small 4 Lane Road with Bus Lanes Tunnel # Vanilla+ equivalent: "4-Lane Two-Way Road with Tram Tracks" Small 4 Lane Road with Shared Tram Small 4 Lane Road with Shared Tram Bridge Small 4 Lane Road with Shared Tram Elevated Small 4 Lane Road with Shared Tram Slope Small 4 Lane Road with Shared Tram Tunnel # Vanilla+ equivalent: "4-Lane Two-Way Road with Tram Lanes" Small 2 Lane Road with Tram Small 2 Lane Road with Tram Bridge Small 2 Lane Road with Tram Elevated Small 2 Lane Road with Tram Slope Small 2 Lane Road with Tram Tunnel # Vanilla+ equivalent: "6-Lane Avenue without Parking", "6-Lane Avenue with Grass (without Parking)" and "6-Lane Avenue with Trees (without Parking)" Large Road with Median Large Road with Median Bridge Large Road with Median Elevated Large Road with Median Slope Large Road with Median Tunnel Large Road with Grass Median Large Road with Tree Median # Vanilla+ equivalent: "8-Lane Avenue with Tram Lanes" Large Road with Tram Large Road with Tram Bridge Large Road with Tram Elevated Large Road with Tram Slope Large Road with Tram Tunnel
The list above skips all 18 vanilla roads duplicated by Vanilla± roads. If you only want to skip some of the roads, remove or comment out (by appending ‘# ‘) the relevant lines.
Voilà. The next time you load a map, the listed roads won’t be loaded, and won’t appear in the road toolbar.
