G’day fellow Combat Commanders! I’ve made a quick guide here to help anyone getting Reshade to work on Battlezone: Combat Commander.
Intro and Disclaimer
G’day fellow Combat Commanders!
I’ve made a quick guide here to help anyone getting Reshade to work on BZCC, as it’s one of those games that requires a bit more than just clicking install.
I provide this as is, use at your own risk.
*This guide has been revised as the DLL loader from the previous version is not required.*
Required Items
First up, get the latest version of Reshade (v5.4.1 as of writing): Link
Installation and Config
Now that we have our required item, it’s time to install and configure everything.
- Install/unzip into your game installation directory (\steamapps\common\BZ2R), make sure to select DirectX9/10/11 option for Reshade.
- Find “dxgi.dll” in the game folder, rename it to “dinput8.dll”
- ??????
- Profit!
Conclusion, Notes, and Warnings
That’s it! If you’ve followed these instructions correctly you will now have Reshade working on BZCC!
Reshade does have full depth buffer access, however, the game creates a number of buffers, and as such AO and RTGI don’t appear as they should. I don’t have enough skill with this to know how to fix it. If I am able to fix it, I’ll update the guide accordingly.
BE AWARE:the game will crash when alt-tabbing or editing Pre-processor Definitions due to a normal small hang when re-loading active effects. To get around this simply toggle effects off when tabbing or editing and re-enable them when playing.
That's everything we are sharing today for this Battlezone: Combat Commander guide. This guide was originally created and written by AzraelX06. In case we fail to update this guide, you can find the latest update by following this link.
