Malacath Quest Walkthrough
To start the quest, go to Malacath’s Shrine, located directly north of Anvil, and a bit northwest of Lord Drad’s Estate. Talk to Shobob gro-Rugdush when you arrive. Lord Drad’s Estate
Head southeast to find Lord Drad’s Estate. Talk to Lord Drad about his wealth source, which involves enslaving ogres for the mine beneath his estate. Since Lord Drad is hesitant to free the ogres, the Hero needs to liberate them independently. If the Hero upsets Lord Drad advocating for ogre freedom, it’s wise to speak with his wife. She can share details about the mine’s location, directly east of the manor. Instead of unlocking the mine door easily, the Hero might sneak into the house at night and take the mine key from a small table to the left of the front door.
Bleak Mine
Inside the mine, the Hero will encounter mine guards and their captain. To liberate the ogres, two choices exist: defeat the guards or pickpocket them to get a key, or pick the locks on the ogres’ cages directly. The selected method influences how the Hero proceeds with the ogre liberation.
Because the guards are gathered near the mine entrance, the Hero can defeat them without getting marked for murder or receiving a bounty. Importantly, killing guards adds to Dark Brotherhood eligibility. It’s crucial to remember that the guards won’t become hostile unless they see the Hero attacking another guard. لذلك, a more effective strategy is to methodically take out the guards individually before moving on to unlock the cells and free the six ogres.
Malacath’s Shrine
After freeing the ogres, go back to Malacath’s Shrine to receive the reward: the Daedric artifact Volendrung. Once the quest is done, checking in on Lord Drad and his wife shows them working tirelessly in the fields day and night, supervised by the recently liberated ogres.
