Songs Of Wuxia – How to Install English Language Translation

This guide will show you how to install the English translation of Songs of Wuxia.

After chatting with the person who made the game, I’ve been changing the words in the game during my free time. I’m telling you about it here because I think this is the best place to share. I’ll give you a link to download it from Mega because using pastebin didn’t work – it said the file was too big.

I didn’t do everything by hand; I used a tool to help me, but then I went through it and fixed things up. Some parts are still a bit tricky because I haven’t finished playing the game yet. I think they should be okay, but the words might be too long in some places, and I can’t split them into different lines because of how it works.

How to Install English Translation

Here’s how you can get the files to change the language to English:

1. Get the files you need from this link.
2. Go to where you installed the game and unzip the files there. Inside the zip, you’ll find the right folders. إذا كنت تفضل ذلك, you can open the zip and unzip “Dictionary.txt” ل

   SongsOfWuxia\Songs_Of_WuXia_Data\StreamingAssets\Tables

   Put the file there, and if it asks, overwrite or rename the original. There’s a backup called “Dictionary_orig.txt” – you can ignore it unless you want to go back to the original.

3. If you start the game, and it says “Press any button to continue” on the Title screen, it’s done! Ready to play. Look at the first screenshot below for an example.

In the ZIP file, there’s a backup of the original “Dictionary.txt” named “Dictionary_orig.txt.” It’s there in case you want to go back to the original and not reinstall the game or verify files.

I talked to the person who made the game, and they said it’s okay for me to translate it. لكن, some of the words might not fit perfectly because the translation ends up being three times bigger. For conversations, if the words get cut off, you can still read them in the log by clicking the middle mouse button.

Just so you know, I’m not trying to figure out how the game works or changing any of the packed game files. That means I can’t translate things like the settings options or combat selection icons, على سبيل المثال. But everything I could translate, I did it all – 100%.
