The En Garde Arena mode offers a variety of stages for you to experience. This guide provides tips, strategies, and details about enemy encounters to help you plan your approach effectively.

Modifiers

In this arena mode, you’ll encounter a variety of challenges and advantages. At the beginning of each stage, a random negative modifier will be applied, and you’ll have the opportunity to choose one positive modifier out of three randomly presented options. As you progress through stages, the modifiers you’ve acquired will persist until you either finish the entire arena or are defeated. You can pause the game to review your current set of modifiers at any point during the arena mode. It’s worth noting that each new arena experience will offer different modifiers, as they are selected at random from a pool of 21 negative modifiers and 45 positive modifiers.

Negative Modifiers

1. Armored Soldiers: Some soldiers have a locked guard bar.
2. Hidden Enemies: Lackeys may appear from destroyed Crates or Barrels.
3. Call Reinforcements: Defeating a Captain spawns an extra soldier.
4. Lethal Captains: You take more damage from Captain attacks.
5. Dauntless Lackeys: Lackeys have unparryable attacks.
6. Lethal Grenadiers: You take more damage from Grenadier bombs.
7. Martyrdom: Defeated enemies may drop a lit bomb.
8. Shameful Hits: Getting hit reduces Panache.
9. Zaida’s Mysterious Trick: Lackeys are replaced by illusions.
10. Performance Anxiety: Panache meter slowly decreases.
11. Unyielding Enemies: Enemies are harder to weaken.
12. Adrenaline Rush: Soldiers can use unparryable attacks.
13. Tenacious Enemies: Enemies recover faster from weakening.
14. Leg Ache: Some Panache skills are unavailable.
15. Shoddy Sword Tip: Some Panache skills are unavailable.

7. Stain of Defeat: Slippery Areas appear under defeated enemies.
8. Tricker’s Strike: Attacks against stunned enemies are critical.
9. Dazzling Recovery: Healing stuns nearby enemies.
10. Retaliation: Successful parries lead to critical strikes.
11. Mindblowing: Hitting stunned enemies with projectiles causes explosions.
12. Contraband: Defeated enemies may drop random projectiles.
13. Masterful Thrust: Critical strike guard damage is increased.
14. Touche!: Defeating an enemy fills half a Panache chunk.
15. Agile Riposte: Dodging sets up the next attack as a critical strike.
16. Fancy Footwork: Dodging an attack stuns the attacker.
17. Comeback Attack: Healing precedes a critical strike.
18. Low Kicks: Successful kicks weaken enemies.
19. Heavy Crates: Crates weaken enemies.
20. Deep Puddles: Slippery Areas disappear after 3 enemy slips.
21. Chaos Enjoyer: Explosions heal and no longer damage (except Grenadier bombs).
22. Astonishing Panache: Fill a Panache chunk to stun nearby enemies.
23. Gusto: Attack healing causes +1 HP.
24. Fencer’s Dance: Weakened enemies fall when you dodge.
25. Spectacular Flourish: Special skills stun nearby enemies.
26. Finish the Fallen: Attacking a knocked down enemy removes 1 HP.
27. Very Vigorous: Healing occurs twice.
28. Empowered Kick: Defeating an enemy makes your next kick unblockable.
29. Panache is Life: Fill a Panache chunk to heal 2 HP.
30. Cape of Wonders: Healing spawns a random Projectile.
31. Land with your Head: Push weakened enemies down stairs or holes for instant defeat.
32. Filled to the Brim: Projectiles create Slippery Areas on impact.
33. Smuggled Wine: Stunning enemies causes Slippery Areas.
34. Stunning Parries: Parry to stun attackers.
35. Stunning Strikes: Attacks that remove HP also stun.
36. Weakening Strikes: Attacks that remove HP also weaken.
37. Flamenco of Steel: Heal after dodging 2 attacks.
38. Lick THESE Boots!: Heal when successfully kicking an enemy.
39. Energizing Flourish: Increased healing from Special Skills.
40. Secret Win Stashes: Destroying Crates or Barrels creates Slippery Areas.
41. Never Gets Old: Heal by hitting enemies with projectiles.
42. Bursting with Pride: Explosions generate Panache.
43. Black Powder Crates: Kicked crates explode when hitting stunned enemies.
44. Astounding Flourish: Special skills weaken hit enemies.
45. Final Flourish: Special skills instantly defeat weakened enemies.

Map RNG and Enemy Encounters

When you enter the arena, there are numerous potential variations you can encounter. While you might spawn on the same map, the enemy encounters can differ. The maps you spawn into are chosen randomly, and the enemy encounters are linked to the specific map you spawn on. Although I’ve documented the encounters I’ve come across, please be aware that I’m just one person, and I may have missed some or made errors. Tips and Strategies

Here are some general tips and basic strategies to assist you. Since you’ve likely completed the story mode, you should be familiar with the game’s combat mechanics:

• Always keep the modifiers in mind during battles.
• You can check the modifiers at any time if you forget them.
• Make full use of special skills (Panache skills) during the stage since you won’t retain the special skill meter (Panache meter).
• Refer to the map stages in the guide to understand the enemy encounters and plan your approach accordingly.
• Prioritize your enemies based on the encounter. عمومًا, start by eliminating weaker enemies like lackeys and grenadiers to thin out the wave. ثم, focus on the tougher opponents.
• Utilize your environment in the map to your advantage. As you move to the next area, you’ll find a new set of items and interactable objects. Don’t hesitate to use your surroundings.

• Avoid wasting time chipping away at an enemy’s health without taking off a health bar or finishing them off, as they can regenerate health if you stop attacking for a while.
• Weakened enemies cannot regenerate health, but they will eventually recover from being weakened. When they stop being weakened, they begin regenerating health.
